In the 5th floor café at Waterstones, Piccadilly yesterday for a meeting on our Sherry book with the delightful Ben Howkins – always a pleasure – and Susan, our wonderful editor. For those of you who don’t already know, it’s the place to go for a meeting in central London: friendly staff, stylish surroundings and comfy chairs – which come in handy when the meeting overruns by approx. two hours (we didn’t even notice). I feel slightly guilty that our books won’t be on sale there, but judging by the number of people in the store, books in general are alive and kicking. And long may it last! Martin Preston
