‘It is true that geological, geographical and meteorological factors define and set the Côte Chalonnaise apart. But the region’s key asset is the quality of women and men dedicated to the vines. A real “Côte Chalonnaise spirit” exists: winemakers have faith in the potential of their Climats, which justifies the incredible efforts made over the last twenty years to produce fine wines and the pride that results from this. Jon’s talent perfectly captured this “spirit” in faces, landscapes and even through pure moments of silence which express truth much better than a writer’s words.’
